Selected Naylors stores are now home to a state of the art Racewood Horse Simulator! That's right, when you visit us in-store you can now combine two of your favourite equestrian pastimes - Shopping and riding.

How Does The Simulator Work?

A clever piece of kit, information is collected from rein, leg and seat sensors. This data provides immediate visual feedback on screen, all in real-time. Responding exactly as you’ve asked it to, every time, it offers a learning experience unlike any other. So, you can focus your attention on your riding, without the need to worry about making mistakes, falling off, teaching bad habits, hurting your horse, naughty behaviour or even over exertion.

Who Is The Simulator For?

Our simulator can be used by riders of all levels from beginners all the way up to advanced. An important training tool used by professionals worldwide, they’re a great way to focus on your riding skills and balance. Whether you’re just starting to ride and want to practice the basics, you’re returning from a fall and looking to build confidence, or you’ve got a big competition coming up and need to brush up on your piaffe, come and have a go!

What Can I Do On The Simulator?

A typical session is 30 minutes of riding. It starts with ensuring you are correctly dressed then you will be talked through how to operate the horse and change pace then you'll have chance to get used to the feel of the horse and its sensors. After this, we suggest a 2-minute riding assessment where you will get visual feedback and a printed report. Once you've done the assessment you can then choose to have a free ride in the arena or ride a dressage test and then finish your session with a final 2-minute assessment.

We are pleased to be able to offer a Riding For Disabled (RDA) option on the horse riding simulators in our stores. To use this function riders are required to bring assistance where required as we only have one member of staff available per session. It's a great opportunity for people with disabilities to reap the benefits of horse riding in a safe environment.

• Take a free 2-minute riding assessment – immediate visual feedback and print your report to take home.

• Free ride in the arena – put the horse through its paces, whilst you work on your position, balance, seat and transitions.

• Ride a dressage test – practice a test in the arena. The simulator will talk you through your test from start to finish.

• RDA function – free ride around your choice of zoo, farm, beach or shapes. Either ride yourself or let our staff support with the horse's pace.

Planning your Simulator Ride

We believe that top class training tools should be available to everyone. Booking a ride on our horse simulator is completely free. To ensure that everyone can have a go, sessions are 1 hour long, the maximum riding time is 30 minutes, this gives you time to meet the member of staff and get ready to ride.

Providing you book ahead of time (or it isn't in use already), you can also use our simulator to test out safety equipment such as hats and body protectors.
